Local (Guam)

  • GTA Youth Leader Program: Youth leadership and service-recognition program with academic scholarships and other prizes; eligibility: Guam residents enrolled in a local high school for SY 2026–27, with a 3.0+ cumulative GPA, leadership experience, and a recommendation; deadline: August 30, 2026.
  • Governor’s Summer Youth Employment Program (GSYEP): Paid summer work experience through the Guam Department of Youth Affairs; eligibility: Guam residents ages 15–17 for the 2026 childcare component; application window: announced annually in spring.
  • Governor’s Youth Advisory Council: Youth leadership body advising Guam’s Governor and Lt. Governor on student and youth issues; eligibility: student leaders from Guam high schools, colleges, and universities; application window: announced by the Office of the Governor.
  • Guam Department of Labor Youth Program / Passport to Careers: Career exploration, work experience, mentoring, internships, and training; eligibility: Guam youth ages 14–24 who meet federal income and employment-barrier criteria; application window: year-round through the American Job Center.
  • Guam Green Growth Youth Conservation Corps (via GSYEP): Paid hands-on sustainability, conservation, agriculture, aquaculture, and renewable-energy experience through the Governor’s Summer Youth Employment Program; eligibility: Guam high school students selected through GSYEP; application window: apply to GSYEP when the annual summer cycle opens.
  • Junior Achievement Company Program: Entrepreneurship program where students run their own business; eligibility: Guam high school students (Grades 9-12); application window: September - October.
  • UOG Advanced High School Program: Earn college credit while completing high school; eligibility: incoming Guam public, private, or charter-school seniors with a 3.0+ GPA, at least one year of Guam residency, counselor recommendation, and parent/guardian approval; deadline: August 7, 2026 for Fall 2026.
  • UOG TRiO Upward Bound: Free college-preparation program with tutoring, summer coursework, college/financial-aid support, and activities; eligibility: first-generation and/or low-income Guam high school students in grades 9–12 who meet GPA and citizenship/residency criteria; application window: annual. Confirm with UOG.

  • Anson L. Clark Scholars Program: Summer research program at Texas Tech University; eligibility: US high school seniors/recent graduates (17+ years old); deadline: February 16, 2026.
  • MIT Beaver Works Summer Institute (BWSI): Project-based STEM program for high-achieving students entering senior year of high school; review the official program for current location, eligibility, and application details.
  • Caltech Up Close: A fall fly-in program for prospective students; eligibility: US high school seniors (class of 2027); deadline: August 9, 2026.
  • Explore Bowdoin: A fly-in program for students to visit Bowdoin College; eligibility: US high school seniors intending to enter college in Fall 2027; deadline: August 11.
  • FLEX Abroad: Exchange program for students to live and study in another country; eligibility: US citizens, high school students; application window: Fall.
  • MITES (MIT Introduction to Technology, Engineering, and Science): Summer STEM program at MIT; eligibility: US high school juniors; deadline: February 1.
  • NAVFAC Pathways Internship Program: Paid federal career-exploration internships offered through Navy Facilities Engineering Systems Command and USAJOBS; eligibility: current high school students (or students accepted at least part-time in a qualifying educational program), subject to each job announcement’s age, citizenship, location, and hiring requirements; application window: opportunities posted individually on USAJOBS.
  • NSLI-Y (National Security Language Initiative for Youth): Language immersion programs abroad; eligibility: US citizens, high school students, 15-18 years old; deadline: October/November.
  • Naval STEM Interns (SEAP): Eight-week, paid science and engineering apprenticeship at participating Department of Navy laboratories; eligibility: currently enrolled high school students who have completed grade 9, generally age 16+ by the internship start date, with U.S. citizenship required by most laboratories; application window: August 1–November 1 annually. Guam students may apply, but must meet a selected laboratory’s requirements and arrange housing.
  • PROMYS: Intensive math program at Boston University; eligibility: High school students (14-18 years old); deadline: February 27, 2026.
  • RISE (Research in Science and Engineering): Summer program at Boston University; eligibility: US high school seniors; deadline: February 4, 2026.
  • Research Science Institute (RSI): Intensive summer research program at MIT; eligibility: High school juniors; deadline: January.
  • SAMS (Summer Academy for Math and Science): Pre-college program at Carnegie Mellon; eligibility: US high school juniors (16+ years old) with financial need; deadline: February/March.
  • SSP (Summer Science Program): Residential summer research experience in astrophysics or biochemistry; eligibility: High school juniors; deadline: February.
  • Simons Summer Research Program: Hands-on research at Stony Brook University; eligibility: US high school juniors (16+ years old); deadline: February 5, 2026.
  • Stanford SIMR: Stanford Institutes of Medicine Summer Research Program; eligibility: US high school juniors/seniors (16+ years old); deadline: February.
  • Stanford SUMaC: Stanford University Mathematics Camp; eligibility: High school students (grades 10-11); deadline: February 2, 2026.
  • U.S. Service Academies: Federal undergraduate military academies; eligibility, nomination, and application requirements vary by academy, so review the official academy and applicable nomination process.
  • YES Abroad: Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study program for study abroad; eligibility: US citizens, high school students; application window: Fall.
  • Yale Summer Program in Astrophysics (YSPA): Research-based summer program at Yale; eligibility: High school juniors; deadline: February.
